ABSA

ABSA professionals can make your home more comfortable, save you money and the environment.

The Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA) is a not for profit Organisation that represents building and design professionals who specialise in performing home energy rating assessments throughout New Zealand.

ABSA Assessors use sophisticated computer programs to analyse your home and determine its home energy rating. Assessors are specifically trained to evaluate the thermal performance of your home, as well as rating the efficiency of your space heating and hot water appliances. More importantly, they offer practical advice on cost-effective ways to improve its performance and create a home that's warmer, healthier, saves you money and is better for the environment.

  • If you are looking to get a home energy rating assessment or find out about an assessment that has already been done, go to our Getting an Assessment section.

  • If you are interested in becoming an Assessor or want to find out about upcoming training, go to our Become an Assessor section.

  • If you are an Accredited Assessor and want to login go to our Assessor Members area

Accredited Assessors offer specialised skills. They've completed rigorous training and examination specific to the delivery of home energy rating assessments and are subject to regular auditing. They're backed by Professional Indemnity and Liability Insurances and meet ABSA requirements for quality assurance and continuing professional development.

ABSA is currently recognised to deliver assessor training and accreditation for home energy rating assessments through the New Zealand Home Energy Rating (NZ HERS) Protocol for Assessor Accrediting Organisations
