About ABSA
The Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA) is a not-for-profit incorporated
association representing building and design professionals who specialise in assessing
the environmental impact of buildings.
The ABSA Accreditation Scheme provides a Quality Assured system and Assessor support
network under which Assessors carry out ratings of
both the building, and space heating and hot water systems in your home.
ABSA Accreditation and rating processes has been designed to meet the requirements
of the NZ HERS Scheme.
ABSA Accreditation requires all ABSA Assessors to complete rigorous training and examination
to ensure a high standard of Assessor qualification. Assessors are subject to auditing
of their work by ABSA and are backed by Professional Indemnity and Liability Insurances
to provide consumer protection and confidence. All Assessors must also practice in
accordance with ABSA Code of Practice requirements and standardised Procedures when
carrying out ratings and undergo annual continuing professional development.
