Assessor Accreditation
The ABSA Accreditation Scheme has been developed to show proficiency for individuals
wishing to undertake home energy rating assessments (also known as Building Thermal
Performance Assessment) under the HERS Rating Scheme.
In accordance with the New Zealand Home Energy Rating Scheme Protocol for Assessor
Accrediting Organsiations accreditation requirements include:

Completing approved Assessor
Training in Home Energy Rating.

Completing an Accreditation exam. (A fee of $350 AU applies to this exam. Note if any part of the exam is not passed, an additional fee of between $50 and $250 will apply).

Compliance with a Code of Practice.

Compliance with police check requirements for in-home assessors.

Payment of annual Accreditation Fees

Holding adequate Professional Indemnity and Liability Insurance.

Undertaking ratings in accordance with Accreditated Assessment Procedures.

Providing Assessments as required to enable Auditing as requested by ABSA.

Attendance at Continuing Professional Development update briefings.
Annual Accreditation Fees
ABSA charges annual accreditation fees based on the number of certificates you issue. Below is a schedule of accreditation fees:
