ABSA management and support services are provided by our dedicated staff:


Alison Carmichael
Executive Officer

Alison was appointed CEO of ABSA in November 2008. Alison developed her skills as a business owner, consultant and manager in the areas of agricultural research, natural resource management, adult learning and communications. Prior to working for ABSA Alison was implementing two federally funded national programs for a not-for-profit followed by a stint as acting CEO. Alison holds qualifications in agriculture and post graduate qualifications in adult learning. She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has held a number of directorships in the not-for-profit sector in areas as diverse as adult learning, community housing and environmental protection.


Tony Isaacs
Business Development Manager

Tony Isaacs manages ABSA's Business Development. A qualified architect, specialising in energy efficient building, Tony has a wealth of experience in the sustainability field.

Tony has previously worked as a lecturer in Thermal Performance, as an Energy Architect for the then Ministry of Housing and as Principal Project Manager (Sustainable Buildings and Development) for the Sustainable Energy Authority of Victoria. Tony’s experience includes studies of the social determinants of energy use, managing energy retrofit programs for public housing, developing the FirstRate energy rating software, cost benefit evaluations for energy efficient building regulations, teaching building industry professionals the art of energy efficient building design and working directly with builders and designers to help them make their buildings more sustainable.


Matt Fisher
HERS Assessor Support Services Manager  

Matt is responsible for the management of Assessor Support Services Team. Matt is a graduate architect and worked for several years in the area of sustainable architecture. He completed his Masters in Environmentally Sustainable Development at UNSW in 2002 and managed ABSA's Accreditation division between 2003 to 2008.


Rebecca Douglass
HERS Policy Consultant

Rebecca manages and oversees all aspects of ABSA’s Accreditation Scheme. She joined ABSA in May 2007 working as a Technical Officer and started in her current role in July 2008. Rebecca has extensive experience in both 1st and 2nd generation software and ABSA policy and procedures. She is a qualified town planner and has worked in both local and state government. She operated her own building thermal performance practice for 12 years and understands what it is like for assessors in the real world.

Andrew Tanzos
HERS Technical Officer

Andrew is here to answer your questions on the ABSA general enquiry line or via email. Prior to coming on board with ABSA, Andrew was a HERS Assessor for two years and performed Sustainability Consulting and BASIX Assessments since its inception. He also runs a successful design business.


Carolyn Willis
Office / Training Administrator

Leads ABSA's Administrative and Business Support Unit, ensuring that all activities are operated effectively and efficiently. Carolyn has a background in environmental science through the completion of a Bachelor of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation and Heritage) from Charles Sturt University Albury. Carolyn majored in Ecosystem Management and minored in Ecology. Carolyn joins us from Taronga Zoo where she was involved with the vertebrate and invertebrate Pest Management program for the Zoo.


Christine Kinsela
Accounts Administrator

Christine is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of ABSA's accounts under the direction of the ABSA Board. Christine has 25 years experience in accounts and administration management of businesses within the construction industry and 5 years with not-for-profit organisations.
