ABSA management and support services are provided by our dedicated staff:
David Howard
Acting Operations Manager
David is responsible for the coordination of ABSA's day to day operations. David is
an Electrical Engineer with previous employment in NSW power supply companies. Since
1996 he has been a Director of Partners Energy Management, which is focused on reducing
energy use in the residential and small business sectors. David has been a Housing
Thermal Performance Assessor since 1997 and a Commercial Building Assessor under the
Australian Building Greenhouse Rating Scheme since 2002.
He has worked with the NSW Sustainable Energy Development Authority implementing Energy
Smart Homes policies for new residential development throughout NSW. David has assisted
planners and developers to create sustainable housing developments, and regularly
speaks to communities and special interest groups on greenhouse gas reduction strategies
and sustainable housing.
Matt Fisher
Accreditation Manager
Matt is responsible for the national development and co-ordination of all aspects
of ABSA's Rating and Accreditation schemes. Matt is a graduate architect and worked
for several years in the area of sustainable design. He completed his Masters in Environmentally
Sustainable Development at UNSW in 2002 and has since worked on managing the NSW House
Energy Rating Scheme.
Rebecca Douglass
Technical / Policy Manager
Rebecca manages and oversees all aspects of ABSA’s Accreditation Scheme. She joined
ABSA in May 2007 working as a Technical Officer and started in her current role in
July 2008. Rebecca has extensive experience in both 1st and 2nd generation software
and ABSA policy and procedures. She is a qualified town planner and has worked in
both local and state government. She operated her own building thermal performance
practice for 12 years and understands what it is like for assessors in the real world.

Glenn is a HERS assessor in New Zealand and also operates an architectural design
business. He provides our general enquiry and assessor support services in New Zealand.
Andrew Tanzos
Technical Officer
Andrew provides technical support in Australia. Prior to coming on board
with ABSA, Andrew was an assessor for two years and performed Sustainability Consulting
and BASIX Assessments since its inception. He also has run an interior and graphic
design business.
Carolyn Willis
Office Administrator
Leads ABSA's Administrative and Business Support Unit, ensuring that all activities
are operated effectively and efficiently. Carolyn has a background in environmental
science through the completion of a Bachelor of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation
and Heritage) from Charles Sturt University Albury. Carolyn majored in Ecosystem Management
and minored in Ecology.
Christine Kinsella
Accounts Administrator
Christine is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of ABSA's
accounts under the direction of the ABSA Board. Christine has 25 years experience
in accounts and administration management of businesses within the construction industry
and 5 years with not-for-profit organisations.
Consultants
ABSA also draws on the expertise of a range of building industry experts to assist
in the development and delivery of technical and training services. Our current consultants
include:
